Former President Donald Trump on Thursday urged supporters to work to turn out evangelical and gun-owning voters, contending that those groups do not vote in sufficient numbers and that their support was necessary to secure a victory in November.
“It starts in mid-September you know it’s early voting. So it’s really long before the November 5th date,” he said during a “Chase the Vote” town hall event in Phoenix, Ariz., hosted by Turning Point Action. “We need a victory that’s too big to rig. You know what that means. We need everybody to get out and vote.”
“Gun owners for whatever reason don’t vote,” he went on. “We have to get the Evangelicals we have to get the gun owners. We have to get these people to vote.”
