The president of one of the nation’s largest labor unions suggested Saturday that the organization is close to announcing an endorsement in the 2024 presidential race.
During an appearance on CBS News “Face The Nation,” Teamsters President Sean O’Brien revealed that he has yet to sit down with Vice President Harris to discuss Union issues since President Biden announced his unprecedented decision to suspend his re-election campaign after the primary had concluded.
“Under our leadership, we’ve brought every single candidate to the table in front of our rank-and-file members and our general executive board, and we’re waiting on Vice President Harris to commit, to come meet with us,” O’Brien said.
O’Brien conceded that the Teamsters are a “very, very Democratic union,” though he is ultimately eager to endorse the candidate who will do the most for workers.
