Okay, this is awful.

In May, Olivia Flores, an 18-year-old Minnesota cheerleader, was struck and killed by a state trooper who had multiple violations on his record and a history of reckless driving.

This beautiful young lady, no longer with us.

Upon a review of the trooper’s disciplinary record, it was found that 32-year-old officer Shane Roper, who struck Olivia’s car while going 83 mph in a 40 mph zone, was involved with four prior crashes while driving his squad car.

Question: Why was this guy allowed on the road at all, let alone in a police car?

The officer, who is pleading “not guilty” on all charges of reckless driving and manslaughter, claims he was trying to catch up to another car he suspected of a traffic violation. He has now been terminated from the police force.

Olivia’s family has called for an investigation, saying:

It is heartbreaking and unacceptable to the Flores family that the State of Minnesota allowed Trooper Roper to be on the road in a Minnesota State Patrol squad car after knowing that he posed a clear danger to others. […]
