President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz to become the next U.S. Attorney General is causing panic among D.C. insiders who have long pushed the establishment narrative that the events of Jan 6, 2021 were an “insurrection.”
Gaetz, who served as a Republican Congressman from Florida until his resignation late Wednesday following Trump’s AG nomination announcement, has been an outspoken critic of the J6 Committee and the weaponization of the U.S. Dept. of Justice (DOJ).

Trump and Gaetz have both fiercely opposed how the DOJ, under current AG Merrick Garland, has been used to prosecute political opponents and also authorized federal law enforcement agents to harass peaceful families who had protested at school board meetings.
The former Congressman has openly advocated for J6 prisoners who have been imprisoned for years while awaiting trial for charges as trivial as “parading without a license” and his nomination for AG has sparked hope that those who are unjustly accused will be vindicated and that genuine justice will take place for them and their families.
