Dozens of U.S. senators have joined forces to officially condemn President Donald Trump’s “show trial” in New York for his so-called “hush money” case.
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) led 28 other Republicans in a scathing rebuke of Democrat President Joe Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland over the anti-Trump lawfare attack.
In a Wednesday letter, Sen. Paul wrote:
“The conviction of President Trump in Manhattan is nothing short of the evisceration of the American judicial process.“In their zeal to imprison Donald Trump, Democrat prosecutors successfully dissolved the constitutional protections afforded to defendants and the barriers that protect every American from the abuses of arbitrary rule.”The majority of the Senate Republican conference signed onto the condemnation.Those signing the document include all three contenders for GOP leader in the next Congress, Minority Whip John Thune (R-SD), and Sens.
