President-elect Donald Trump has wasted no time in getting started on his recent promise to encourage major investment and job creation in the US. He and Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son announced on Monday morning a coming investment of $100 billion into the United States in a move that is projected to create 100,000 jobs.
The two made the announcement on Monday morning from Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

The venture will focus on building artificial intelligence as well as related infrastructure and the company executive pledged the funds will be deployed into the US all before Trump’s second term is up, CNBC reported.
Masayoshi Son said that since Trump’s election win, his “confidence level” in the United States economy has “tremendously increased,” leading him to make the investment decision. Additionally, he said that he is hopeful that Trump will be able to “bring the world into peace again” during the President-elect’s second term.
The two spoke of the CEO, “doubling down” on the investment, possibly referring to Softbank’s 2016 pledge of $50 billion to the United States and goal of creating 50,000 jobs. Trump joked with him that Softbank could go four times the amount, and invest $200 billion. […]
