The Media Research Center discovered Tuesday that Google had once again rigged its general search and news tab results filling them with media sources hostile to Trump and the people he has nominated to serve in his administration. Leftist and legacy media articles greatly outnumbered articles from news outlets considered “right” or “lean right” by media ratings firm AllSides. After comparing the search results to the AllSides media bias list, MRC researchers found eight times more left-leaning articles in the general search results than U.S.-based “lean right” or “right” articles. Google similarly supplied nearly six times as many left-leaning articles for its news tab search.

Google provided scarcely any articles categorized as “lean right” or “right” by AllSides to go along with these vicious attacks and this stacked deck of leftist and legacy media. For the news tab search results, Google provided 176 left-leaning articles compared to only 31 U.S.-based “lean right” or “right” articles. The general search results included a paltry 12 “lean right” or “right” articles, badly outnumbered by the 96 leftist articles in the results. Furthermore, Google failed to show a single U.S.-based “lean right” or “right” article for over 65 percent of nominees that the search giant provided articles for in general search.

Google truly distinguished itself by pushing outlets that stoke hatred against nominees like Kash Patel, Trump’s FBI director nominee. Google filled Patel’s general search results with attacks and elevated a fearmongering Slate article with the headline “We’ve Seen Kash Patel’s Enemies List. It’s Terrifying” at the top of the page. Other articles by leftist outlets such as NPR, CNN, The Guardian, The Daily Mail and NBC News spread fear about Patel.

In the news tab search result for “Kash Patel,” Google included the Slate article second from the top, while also elevating a Mother Jones article calling Patel a “useful idiot for Putin,” a CNN article implying Patel was paranoid and an NPR article accusing him of feeding “conspiracy theories” to children. After extolling what he believes to be the personal virtues of some Republicans (he mentions Mitt Romney, whose personal virtues are undeniable, but who lost to Barack Obama in 2012), Brooks worries about what he regards as Donald Trump’s lack of virtues and the president-elect’s “department of government efficiency” and its declared goal of reforming, even eliminating, many programs and agencies.

Here’s the problem. Government agencies and programs are not called institutions and synonyms such as “the deep state” and “the establishment” for nothing. They continue to exist, regardless of the failure of many to perform well, because they enjoy a political and financial inertia that is difficult to slow down, much less stop or reverse.

These entities may not enjoy widespread public support, but they do benefit from lobbyists, interest groups and labor unions who make substantial contributions to the political campaigns of members of Congress. Those in the House of Representatives control the money flow and are reluctant, to the point of resistance, to end or reform the status quo.

Anyone who remembers the outcry over the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process more than two decades ago, will recall what I mean. Members of Congress, whose districts were affected by base closings, squealed like stuck pigs. The key to success was the way BRAC was presented to the public: “The commission’s purpose is to downsize the military infrastructure in a way that is efficient and effective, and to increase operational readiness. No one’s surprised that Biden would commit this outrage and then fly to Africa to get out of the earshot of reporters. His entire presidency seemed designed to avoid reporters, and never mind that about 95 percent of them are Biden voters.

It came a day after the same show whined that Hegseth’s arrival at the Pentagon (if confirmed by the Senate) would be “cultural shock and awe” in ridding the military of its woke elements. That kvetching came at the same time NBC’s Sunday Today raised concern about his goal (along with President-Elect Trump) of bringing accountability to military generals involved in the deadly 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.

Carr sent a letter Wednesday to the respective CEOs of Google, Microsoft, Meta and Apple accusing them of “improper conduct” in silencing Americans’ exercising free speech on political, religious and scientific issues. Carr specifically ordered these tech giants to acquiesce to surrendering any documents related to their work with “the Orwellian named NewsGuard” given its history of targeting right-leaning websites by bullying their advertisers.

Moreover, Carr excoriated the CEOs for participating in “a censorship cartel that included not only technology and social media companies but advertising, marketing, and so-called ‘fact checking’ organizations as well as the Biden-Harris Administration itself” to suppress viewpoints, harm websites’ profitability and delist them by smearing them as “high risk” to advertisers.

Carr relied on MRC studies to make his case that Big Tech platforms working with NewsGuard raise questions about whether this relationship constitutes “good faith” actions within the meaning of the Section 230 liability protections in the Communications Decency Act of 1996 that they enjoy.

For one, reports indicate that NewsGuard has consistently rated official propaganda from the Communist Party of China as more credible than American publications,” Carr wrote citing MRC Free Speech America research. “For another, NewsGuard aggressively fact checked and penalized websites that reported on the COVID-19 lab leak theory. For still another, the Small Business Committee and multiple Media Research Center studies detail numerous instances where NewsGuard apparently does not apply its own rating system in an even-handed manner.

Carr called for the ties of leftist ratings firms like NewsGuard, the government and Silicon Valley to be dismantled: “This censorship cartel is an affront to Americans’ constitutional freedoms and must be completely dismantled. Wagner lamented to CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights Maya Wiley, “I want for a moment to, like, just, for a moment, talk about this loss of allyship in a very desperate time, that not only were white non-college educated women voting for Trump and against Harris, they were voting against the interest of their black and brown sisters in parts of the country where their lives are in danger, but, whether because of healthcare deserts, abortion deserts, or any other factors, and it’s a phenomenon that happens increasingly as women get married, and I wonder, you know, the plight of black and brown women in this country extends well past the fortunes of Kamala Harris.”

She then turned to a recent piece in the New York Times and quoted Wiley, “Not only have black women always been on the menu, but they have been eating us, and it has been happening for generations, and what this represents for black women right now is it has deepened and been given significantly more permission.”

Before anyone could ask what on earth “Eating us” means, Wagner continued, “How should people of color, women of color, women, how should we think about this moment and what lessons should be drawn from it, given how, I think, demoralizing it is in the cause of equity and equality and just justice?”

Shortly before 9:00 a.m. during extended election coverage, CNN host Sara Sidner hinted at global warming being to blame for recent extreme weather, and provocatively called Trump a “climate denier” as she set up the segment:

Weir then came aboard and recounted the different possibilities for how many degrees warmer the world might become and argued that it is necessary to cut back fossil fuel burning within five years to prevent dire consequences. You can point and laugh, since The New York Times refused to admit that Hunter Biden’s laptop full of corruption details was authentic until 2022, and then it acknowledged reality in a story on page A-20, in paragraph 23. It was buried, almost like an unmarked grave.

Chief White House correspondent Peter Baker’s editorial bubbled over with contempt for how many lies Trump told in the first 300 seconds of an interview with Tucker Carlson on Halloween. “Public appearances by Mr. Trump throughout this year’s campaign have been an Alice-in-Wonderland trip through the political looking glass, a journey into an alternate reality often belied by actual reality.”

Baker thinks it’s amusing that Trump will sell his administration as the greatest ever seen in American history. Leftists now regularly label their opponents Nazis and fascists, even without any reasonable basis or even against clear evidence to the contrary, and it seems Wikipedia has jumped on the bandwagon. The Wikipedia article “Comparisons between Donald Trump and fascism” remains available despite being “nominated … for deletion,” with many paragraphs of biased assertions claiming the former president has displayed Nazi or fascistic tendencies. A note on the article explained that the suggestion to title the article “Donald Trump and fascism” is under consideration.

Wikipedia included Trump’s presidential opponents—President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris—-among the supposed authorities cited to label Trump a Nazi or fascist. Other individuals cited were disgraced former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, Biden’s White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and critic Noam Chomsky, all known for extreme rhetoric against Trump. The Wikipedia article prominently featured an image showing Trump’s face melding into the face of Nazi mass murdering dictator Adolf Hitler.

Even more ridiculously, Wikipedia’s article framed Trump’s policies as Nazi, racist or fascist, particularly his efforts to secure the southern border, policies that many American racial groups have supported. Wikipedia framed Trump’s promise to fight Communism and illegal migration as being comparable to anti-Jewish genocidal eugenics pushed by Hitler, and his detention of illegal aliens is compared to genocidal Nazi concentration camps.

The Wikipedia article also made ridiculous comparisons between Trump supporters and Nazis. There is an entire section trying to argue that the non-coordinated Jan. 6 Capitol protest was similar to Hitler’s Beer Hall Putsch attempt to take over the 1920s German government. Wikipedia apparently recently updated the article to make the baseless comparison between Trump’s October Madison Square Garden rally, which videos showed was strongly pro–Israel and pro–Jewish, and a 1939 Nazi rally in the same arena.
