Trump promised to lower costs for every day Americans on the campaign trail, and frequently blamed the Biden administration for higher costs of living, including high grocery prices.

The former president told TIME Magazine during his “Person of the Year” interview that he did not feel his presidency would be a failure if he does not succeed in lowering grocery costs, because lowering costs is difficult.

“Look, they got them up. I’d like to bring them down,” Trump said. “It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard. But I think that they will. I think that energy is going to bring them down. I think a better supply chain is going to bring them down.”

The former president also outlined some of his other top priorities in the wide-ranging interview, including plans to pardon some Jan. 6 defendants and enacting mass deportations. He also credited hitting “the nerve of the nation” for his victory. […]

New York and New Jersey Senators Seek Federal Briefing on NJ Drones https://truthbasedmedia.com/new-york-and-new-jersey-senators-seek-federal-briefing-on-nj-drones/ https://truthbasedmedia.com/new-york-and-new-jersey-senators-seek-federal-briefing-on-nj-drones/#respond Fri, 13 Dec 2024 14:39:41 +0000 https://truthbasedmedia.com/target/new-york-and-new-jersey-senators-seek-federal-briefing-on-nj-drones/ Senate Democrats from New York and New Jersey on Thursday requested a federal briefing on the mysterious drones that have appeared in New Jersey recently, which federal officials have claimed they have no information about.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) last week issued two flight restrictions on the area surrounding President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf club in New Jersey, following questionable drone activity. The drone sightings were first reported on Nov. 18.

An FBI official on Tuesday claimed the bureau does not know much about the drone activity, or who is behind it, but said the agency has not seen anything that would lead it to believe the drones pose a danger to the American public.

Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker, Andy Kim, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer sent the request to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker, asking for information on how they are working “to identify and address the source of recent unmanned aerial system activity.”

“The potential safety and security risks posed by these drones in civilian areas is especially pertinent considering recent drone incursions at sensitive military sites in and outside of the continental U.S. over the past year,” they wrote. “Protecting civilian infrastructure, safety, and privacy as well as military assets and personnel will require a comprehensive response from Congress and the executive branch.” […]

String of California Attacks Suggest Tensions Still High Over a Year After October 7 https://truthbasedmedia.com/string-of-california-attacks-suggest-tensions-still-high-over-a-year-after-october-7/ https://truthbasedmedia.com/string-of-california-attacks-suggest-tensions-still-high-over-a-year-after-october-7/#respond Fri, 13 Dec 2024 12:50:41 +0000 https://truthbasedmedia.com/target/string-of-california-attacks-suggest-tensions-still-high-over-a-year-after-october-7/ (Just The News)—A string of recent violent episodes in California suggest tensions are still running high in the state over Israel and Palestine, with one man shooting two kindergarteners at a Christian school due to American involvement in Gaza, and a Palestinian allegedly running over an Israeli in Laguna Beach after arguing at the bar.

Last week, a man described by law enforcement as “homeless” opened fire at a Seventh Day Adventist school in Oroville, wounding two kindergarteners. Law enforcement later shared the man’s writings, which said “child executions” at the school are a “necessitated response to America’s involvement with Genocide and Oppression of Palestinians along with attacks towards Yemen.”

Over the weekend, Hebrew News reported an Israeli and a Palestinian got into an argument outside of a bar in Laguna Beach, which led to the Palestinian ramming his car into the Israeli after learning of his nationality.

On Sunday night, San Francisco Hillel, a center for Jewish university students, was vandalized with communist imagery and anti-Western slogans, such as the anarchy symbol, the hammer and sickle of Communism, and the phrases “death to Western imperialism” and “Khaybar.”

“Hillel House at SF State, a space for Jewish college students citywide, was targeted with antisemitic graffiti & an effort to break into the house,” said State Sen. Scott Wiener on X. “‘Khaybar’ was a place where, in 628 CE, Jews were subjugated & expelled. Jewish students continue to be targeted on our campuses.”

According to the Public Policy Institute of California’s analysis of California Department of Justice data, hate crimes in California fell over 2023 while those against Jewish and Muslim Californians increased sharply.

Head of Influential Sheriff’s Group Embraces Kash Patel as FBI Director: ‘He’s a Butt Kicker’ https://truthbasedmedia.com/head-of-influential-sheriffs-group-embraces-kash-patel-as-fbi-director-hes-a-butt-kicker/ https://truthbasedmedia.com/head-of-influential-sheriffs-group-embraces-kash-patel-as-fbi-director-hes-a-butt-kicker/#respond Fri, 13 Dec 2024 12:41:05 +0000 https://truthbasedmedia.com/target/head-of-influential-sheriffs-group-embraces-kash-patel-as-fbi-director-hes-a-butt-kicker/ A prominent leader of an influential sheriff association on Tuesday publicly embraced President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for FBI Director, Kash Patel, claiming he was a “butt kicker.”

Trump nominated Patel to replace current FBI Director Christopher Wray last month. But Wray, who was selected by Trump in 2017, can legally remain in his position until 2027.

Former Arizona sheriff Richard Mack, who founded and leads the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, said his group has already endorsed Patel and encouraged the nominee to pick a sheriff as his deputy director.

“We already endorsed him publicly, and we love that he’s there. He’s a butt kicker. That’s exactly what we need,” Mack said on the “Just The News, No Noise” TV show. “There’s a lot of good sheriffs that really could help him clean Washington, D.C., up, but the FBI is way too lawfare, way too weaponized and way too corrupt.”

Mack said he has connections to the FBI through his father, who retired from the bureau, and a cousin who was deputy director, and still believes the bureau needs some “revamping.” […]

Liz Truss Says UK Needs ‘Trump-Style Revolution’ to Beat Out Deep State https://truthbasedmedia.com/liz-truss-says-uk-needs-trump-style-revolution-to-beat-out-deep-state/ https://truthbasedmedia.com/liz-truss-says-uk-needs-trump-style-revolution-to-beat-out-deep-state/#respond Fri, 13 Dec 2024 12:26:05 +0000 https://truthbasedmedia.com/target/liz-truss-says-uk-needs-trump-style-revolution-to-beat-out-deep-state/ Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss on Tuesday said the United Kingdom needs a “Trump-style revolution” in order to beat the administrative state that has been ruling the country’s government for so long.

Truss said that the British people have been voting for change in recent elections, but that the leadership within those parties have largely remained the same. The comment comes as British voters push back on Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is part of the left’s Labor Party.

The former prime minister also claimed that British voters want the country’s immigration problem dealt with, new jobs to come into their local areas, and cheap energy costs.

“What’s going on is people in Britain keep voting for change. So they voted for Brexit in 2016, they voted for Boris in 2019, and they voted for Keir Starmer in 2024. And on each occasion, they wanted things shaken up,” Truss said on the “Just The News, No Noise” TV show. “But every time they voted, the same people are still making the decisions.

“And I think we’re getting to a stage now in Britain where people are blaming the system,” she continued. “They are beginning to understand that the problem isn’t the identity of the person in Downing Street. The problem is the technocrats who have ruled the roost for 30 years now.” […]

Under the guise of identifying potential terrorists and money launderers, the FBI and Treasury Department sought help from 16,000 financial institutions without subpoenas looking for tickets purchased to conservative gatherings, the purchase of Bibles or anything with keywords like “Trump” or “MAGA.”

The official X account for the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government released its report on X along with the text: “Think your finances are private? Think again.”

In another post on X Friday, the panel wrote: “Without safeguards, this could lead to widespread abuse of power and debanking.”

“Debanking” is the phenomenon of a bank closing an account of a customer due to their political activity. Conservative filmmaker-podcaster-author Dinesh D’Souza told Just the News that JPMorgan Chase Bank debanked him two years ago. JPMorgan Chase didn’t respond to a request for comment. […]

Trump’s Victory Helps Farmers Feel Better About Economy, Report Says https://truthbasedmedia.com/trumps-victory-helps-farmers-feel-better-about-economy-report-says/ https://truthbasedmedia.com/trumps-victory-helps-farmers-feel-better-about-economy-report-says/#respond Wed, 11 Dec 2024 13:39:39 +0000 https://truthbasedmedia.com/target/trumps-victory-helps-farmers-feel-better-about-economy-report-says/ (Just The News)—With the presidential election now completed, the latest Purdue University-CME Group Ag Economy Barometer shows American farmers’ sentiments about the industry are now at a level that has not been seen since May 2021.

The latest report showed the overall index at 145. That was a 30-point increase from October and a 57-point swing from September, when the index was at its lowest since March 2016.

The barometer is based on a survey of farmers, which was taken one week after the election won by President-elect Donald Trump. That result is making farmers feel more optimistic about the impact federal environmental regulations will have on their operations.

Of those polled last month, 55% said they expect less restrictive measures in the next five years, compared to just 9% believing the rules will become more stringent. The October report showed that 41% of farmers polled expressed concerns about more burdensome regulations, while only 10% of farmers thought they would be more relaxed.

In addition, farmers are less worried now about possible tax increases than they were four years ago. Of those polled last month, only 36% thought income rates would increase for farmers over the next five years, while 55% believe they will remain around the same as they are now. In December 2020, after President Biden won the election, 74% feared higher taxes, compared to 25% expecting them to stay level.

While more farmers believe their future outlook will be rosier, that’s not to say they do not have any concerns. When asked about how a trade war would affect agricultural exports, 42% of farmers responded by saying it would likely (27%) or very likely (15%) lead to fewer U.S. products being exported. Only 26% believed a trade decline would be unlikely (17%) or very unlikely (9%).

Since being called the winner last month, Trump has threatened to increase tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China in hopes of stopping fentanyl shipments from entering the United States and stemming the influx of illegal immigrants entering from America’s northern and southern borders.

Should those tariffs take effect, Indiana farmers could be among those most affected.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service, Indiana was the nation’s seventh largest agricultural exporter in 2022, with more than $7.4 billion in commodities shipped abroad. Soybeans were the top export, with a value of nearly $2.65 billion, followed by corn, which was worth about $1.35 billion.

DC Sues Amazon for ‘Covertly’ Stopping Fast Delivery to Two Predominantly Black Areas https://truthbasedmedia.com/dc-sues-amazon-for-covertly-stopping-fast-delivery-to-two-predominantly-black-areas/ https://truthbasedmedia.com/dc-sues-amazon-for-covertly-stopping-fast-delivery-to-two-predominantly-black-areas/#respond Fri, 06 Dec 2024 12:50:35 +0000 https://truthbasedmedia.com/target/dc-sues-amazon-for-covertly-stopping-fast-delivery-to-two-predominantly-black-areas/ Washington, D.C., on Wednesday sued Amazon for allegedly hiding the fact that it stopped its fast delivery service in two predominantly black neighborhoods, despite still advertising the service to residents.

The lawsuit, which was filed in District of Columbia Superior Court, claims the change was made unexpectedly in 2022, when it imposed a delivery “exclusion” zone on two low-income ZIP codes in the district. The company relies on other delivery services like UPS and the United States Postal Service in the area, according to the Associated Press.

“Amazon is charging tens of thousands of hard-working Ward 7 and 8 residents for an expedited delivery service it promises but does not provide,” D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb said. “While Amazon has every right to make operational changes, it cannot covertly decide that a dollar in one ZIP code is worth less than a dollar in another.”

Amazon has admitted that it stopped the speedy service in the two zones but said it had done so out of concern for driver safety rather than for discriminatory purposes.

“We made the deliberate choice to adjust our operations, including delivery routes and times, for the sole reason of protecting the safety of drivers,” Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said. “The claims made by the attorney general, that our business practices are somehow discriminatory or deceptive, are categorically false.” […]

The interview is expected to air during “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning, at 10:30 a.m. but highlights will be teased and released before the show. The interview itself will take place on Friday.

A full transcript of the interview will also be publicly available on Sunday.

Welker previously interviewed Trump in 2023, where they discussed the border and illegal immigration. They also outlined his plans for a second administration.

It is not clear what the interview will entail, but it comes as Trump announces critical members of his next administration, including his presidential Cabinet. Some of those nominees have come under fire, including his nominee for Defense Secretary, and face scrutiny in the Senate. […]

The drone sightings were first reported on Nov. 18, but have continued into this week, according to Fox News. The sightings come after drones were also reported over joint British-American bases in the United Kingdom last month.

The FAA on Tuesday said that one restriction covers an area near Solberg-Hunterdon County Airport that consists of airspace above Trump’s course. The other ban prohibits aircraft from flying over Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey, which serves as a major U.S. Army hub.

“Safely integrating drones into the National Airspace System is a key priority for the FAA,” the FAA told Fox News in a statement Tuesday. “We look into all reports of unauthorized drone operations and investigate when appropriate.”

The restrictions will remain in place until the end of the week in Somerset, near Trump’s golf course, while the ban in Dover will remain until Dec. 26. […]
