President-elect Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, securing more than the 270 electoral votes necessary to win the presidency in the early morning of Nov. 6 after making substantial gains among both black and Hispanic voters in pre-election polling, largely due to the economy. Democratic strategist Fred Hicks claimed the party was engaged in “soul searching” when he claimed the “economy was strong.” (RELATED: ‘I Would Love An Answer’: Faulkner Asks Dem Guest Point-Blank If His Party Is Actually Accepting Drubbing With Grace)
“Donald Trump won the election, and Democrats are very clear on that. Some people who wonder if there was some monkeying around with it,” Hicks claimed. “We have except the results of the election in 2024. We saw that last week when President Biden welcoming president-elect Donald Trump to the White House. With that being said, at the same time, we’re trying to figure out what happened because the economy was strong and is strong.”
Since President Joe Biden and Harris took office in January 2021, prices rose by over 20%, while the Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached a high of 9% in June 2022. By comparison, the CPI grew 1.4% year-over-year in January 2021, when Trump left office, while the average price for a gallon of gas was under $2.25 the same year, according to GasBuddy.com.
“You say that but people were not strong. You look at America but you don’t see the Americans who said they were not strong in the pocketbook. That food prices were too high. You are still saying it,” Faulkner told Hicks, who responded by claiming it was a “disconnect” between them. […]

The Chinese government advertises the “Root-Seeking Summer Camp In China” as an opportunity for ethnically Chinese children living in the U.S. and other countries to immerse themselves in Chinese language and culture. However, a DCNF review of Chinese government announcements and the program’s website discovered the camps are overseen by a Chinese influence and intelligence service.
The program not only exposes participants as young as 10 years old to CCP propaganda, but some even operate like boot camps run by officers from the People’s Liberation Army and Ministry of Public Security, Chinese government social media posts reveal.
“The long arm of the CCP’s malign influence extends into the United States and seeks to assert an illegitimate claim on all those of Chinese ancestry — regardless of their nationality,” Michigan Republican Rep. John Moolenaar told the DCNF.
“We need to protect all those on American soil from the CCP’s authoritarian agenda, particularly by educating the American public on the true nature of the Party and its dystopian vision,” said Moolenaar, chairman of the House Select Committee on the CCP. The Republican’s letter, obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation, was addressed to top network executives at Fox, CBS, Disney and NBCUniversal. Cramer’s letter called out the networks for biased coverage of President-elect Donald Trump.
“Eight years ago, I sent a letter to your predecessors on behalf of concerned citizens nationwide, addressing the blatant media bias observed during the 2016 Presidential Election,” Cramer wrote. “To date, none of your perspective networks have responded. Following the 2024 Presidential Election, I find myself compelled to write once more — this time with even greater urgency.”
Letter Addressing Media Bias Post-2024 Election
There have been various examples of apparent media bias in the past few years, such as when journalists Linsey Davis and David Muir faced criticism after they moderated the ABC News presidential debate between Trump and Harris on Sept. 10, as many viewers felt like it was unfairly rigged against Trump. Hegseth, a “Fox and Friends” weekend co-host who served in the National Guard for 20 years and made multiple combat deployments, was announced Tuesday night as Trump’s pick to run the Pentagon. Jennings said that the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and the attempt to deploy a mobile pier in Gaza called the insiders’ competence.
“Does anybody have confidence in the current leadership of the Pentagon and the way the defense situation has been operating for the last several years?” Jennings asked the panel. “I mean, from the Afghanistan pullout, which was an extreme debacle for which no one was held accountable, we’ve had spy balloons flying over the United States, we built the $300 million pier as a public relations stunt which wound up killing an American service member.”
“I would say I’ve had just about enough of the so-called ‘insiders’ running the Defense Department, I think we ought to give Pete Hegseth a chance.” Jennings continued, prompting journalist Carl Bernstein to ask, “You think that’s about insiders?”
Jennings referenced the thirteen service members who were killed in an Aug. 26, 2021 bombing as American forces were evacuating from Kabul, as well as a pier built to deliver relief supplies to Gaza, which cost taxpayers over $230 million and was operational for just a few weeks, during which one soldier died of injuries sustained while operating the pier.
“All the criticism of him is that he is not the expected Washington pick and I am just saying to you that the American people just voted against the expected Washington pick,” Jennings responded. “He has 20 years in service, Afghanistan, Iraq, two Bronze Stars, Princeton, Harvard. Yeah, he is on TV, but so are the rest of us. I think he ought to be given a chance.”
Trump previously announced that former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe would be nominated as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and that Republican Rep. Michael Waltz of Florida, a former Green Beret, would serve as national security advisor.
He once again shattered the blue wall, and earned the highest popular vote ever recorded by a Republican presidential candidate, substantially narrowing the gap in states like California, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Illinois. Republicans have also taken control of the Senate and are poised to hold onto the House of Representatives.
Trump promised to dramatically reshape government, foreign policy, national security and especially the economy. The president-elect understands that a sound energy policy is the foundation for all of these.
One of his top campaign promises was to unleash America’s energy potential and lower gasoline and electricity prices for American families. Given all the damage done by the Biden-Harris administration in this area, lasting changes will require more than executive action; they will require the support of Congress.
To facilitate this attention, House Republicans should create an Energy and Natural Resources Committee. […]

Since Trump won both the Electoral College and the popular vote, Democrats have had a wide range of reactions and responses to their party’s loss. On “The Victor Davis Hanson Show,” Hanson stated that Trump will bring a “return to normalcy” regarding illegal immigration, noting that Democrats will most likely push back.
“But I will issue a warning to everybody, you haven’t seen the left. When you start deporting people, even with a criminal record, they’re going to be on CNN weeping and crying. They’re going to be on the internet [saying], ‘This is like Hitler.’ So brace yourself,” Hanson said.
Hanson went on to state that while he believes some sanctuary cities may push back against federal penalties for not assisting in the deportation of illegal immigrants, liberals won’t be able to blame a lack of federal funds.
“If you say that a sanctuary city is not going to get [money] — if it insists and it will not get certain types of federal funds [then] people say, ‘Oh, my daughter was killed on the freeway because it wasn’t fixed,’” Hanson added. “The same left-wing mind that looks over here at High-Speed Rail, this Stonehenge six miles from my house — $15 billion — nothing. There’s the most dangerous freeway in the world parallel to it, the 99.” […]

Trump’s election sparked speculation Alito and Thomas, 74 and 76 years old, respectively, would retire to enable Trump to appoint younger conservative justices to the bench. However, people close to the justice told the WSJ this is not a factor in Alito’s plans.
“Despite what some people may think, this is a man who has never thought about this job from a political perspective,” an individual close to Alito told the WSJ. “The idea that he’s going to retire for political considerations is not consistent with who he is.”
Alito already hired a law clerk for the 2025-2026 term and will likely have the rest within the next few months, the WSJ reported.
Conservative legal activist and Federalist Society leader Leonard Leo called speculation about justices’ retirements “crass” in a Friday statement. […]

1 — Harris failed to craft a unique message that separated her from President Joe Biden. From day one, Harris should have made it clear that she represents a new generation of leadership. Showing humility, she should have taken responsibility for some of Biden’s failures, while promising to do better. Instead, in one example, Harris refused to apologize to Alexis Nungaray, the mother of Jocelyn Nungaray, who was murdered by an illegal immigrant let into the country because of Harris’ border mismanagement. Naturally, this rubbed voters the wrong way.
While Democrat strategists are making excuses for Harris’ failure to distance herself from Biden, Harris could have leveraged the need to remain loyal to Biden as a strength. Her message should have been that she worked with Biden, understands how his generation of leadership operates, and therefore would be able to transition into a better vision for leadership. Instead, in what was perhaps one of the worst lows of Harris’ campaign, Harris stated that “not a single thing comes to mind” when asked what she would do differently than Biden. This conveyed to voters that Harris would be a continuation of the failed Biden administration.
2 — Harris did not put forth a compelling vision for the American people.
Americans typically vote for a vision. In 2008, Americans voted for Barack Obama based on the vision of: “Change we can believe in.” With this vision, Obama is often credited with revolutionizing political campaign marketing while using innovative marketing tactics. He became a household name through a vision for “hope and change” and “post-partisanship.” It was a vision that, while ultimately introducing a new type of divisiveness, captured the pulse of the public and met people where they were after Bush’s failures. Beyond the Obama era, Trump took political visionary marketing to a new level with his “Make America Great Again” movement, a vision that has endured for a decade. […]

Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris last week, securing more than the 270 electoral votes necessary to win the presidency. During an appearance on the Fox Business Network, Tenney accused James of trying to “take Trump out.”
“[Trump] could have done all kinds of things. He could have referred Hillary Clinton, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, all those people, [James] Comey, everybody, he did not do that. And who’s the one that didn’t make [the] enemies list and didn’t prosecute people who committed actual crimes?” Tenney told host Larry Kudlow, a former Trump administration official. “Instead of using all these people, these state operators like in Georgia, New York State, the… shameless, shameful, shameless Letitia James and all these people trying to take Trump out now.”
“Those people, actually, Letitia James needs to be disbarred and removed from office for the kind of behavior we’re seeing out of her, and I’m a member of the New York bar and it’s just shameful,” Tenney continued.
James, during her 2018 campaign for the office, promised to investigate Trump. She labeled him an “illegitimate president.” James sued Trump in September 2022, alleging he overstated the value of real estate holdings in order to obtain loans. […]

Several universities are offering counseling services and special post-election debriefing events on campus, while professors canceled classes and called for a rise against the future administration, according to emails obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“I am cancelling class today to grieve the presidential election results,” Shlagha Borah, an assistant professor at Michigan State University (MSU), wrote to students in a class announcement Wednesday. “As a queer, immigrant woman of colour, I cannot, in good conscience, go on about my day like everything is alright. This is a major historical event that we are witnessing. I hope you take this time to take care of yourself.”
MSU also offered students a “safe space” featuring therapy dogs, coloring books and free hugs, according to an email from Jodi Hancock, a “director for student success” at the university.
