As to Superman, his lecture occurs after Batman tells him that he is contemplating taking a new drug created by inventor Scarlett Scott. The drug supposedly prolongs life and gives older people the same vitality and strength that they had when they were in their 20s. But it is very expensive, so, because he is wealthy enough to afford the drug therapy, Bruce Wayne is thinking of taking the drug so that he can fight crime for an extended period of time.

Batman explains the drug to Superman and says, “I’ve been offered something. A medical breakthrough. It’s rare. Only available to a select few. It slows aging.” […]

Bloomberg reports that in a major milestone, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence venture xAI has raised an additional $6 billion from investors, according to a recent regulatory filing with the SEC. The successful completion of this funding round propels the startup’s valuation to more than $40 billion, cementing its position as one of the most valuable AI companies in the world.

The new capital injection came from a diverse group of 97 investors, with individual stakes ranging from as little as $77,593 to much larger amounts. While the filing did not disclose the names of the investors or provide specifics on the company’s valuation and revenue, it underscores the growing interest and confidence in xAI’s potential to revolutionize the AI landscape.

This latest funding round follows on the heels of xAI’s previous $6 billion raise in May 2024, which valued the company at $24 billion, inclusive of the funds raised. The Assad regime responded to the apparent surprise attack by HTS with a flurry of airstrikes on jihadist targets, aided by its Russian allies.

Simultaneously, clashes began erupting between the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG/YPJ), who have kept control of some of Syrian Kurdistan in the stagnant years of the decade-old Syrian civil war, and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), which rose out of the remnants of the Free Syrian Army.

The elimination of Jamaa is the latest development in an ongoing war between Israel and Hezbollah that began after a key Hezbollah ally, the fellow Iran-backed terrorist organization Hamas, invaded Israel on October 7, 2023, massacring an estimated 1,200 and retaining dozens of captives to this day. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Rep. John James (R-MI) introduced the App Store Accountability Act, a bill that aims to provide parents with effective tools to protect their children. The legislation would allow parents to sue big tech platforms if they believe their child has been exposed to harmful material.

Congress faces a December 20 deadline for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to strike a deal on funding the government and are preparing another stop-gap bill to keep the government running for the foreseeable future.

Schumer said on the Senate floor Monday that “both sides are making progress negotiating on a bill that will pass the House and Senate with bipartisan support.”

“We need to keep divisive and unnecessary provisions out of any government funding extension, or it will get harder to pass a CR in time. For now, I’m pleased negotiations are on the right track,” the Senate Democrat leader added.

Trump has been uncharacteristically silent on the issue, but lawmakers are running out of time to incorporate the president-elect’s stance into bipartisan and bicameral talks if they want to avoid a shutdown. Rasmussen Reports, one of the most accurate pollsters of the 2024 presidential election, dug down a little further and then asked if Trump should offer a blanket pardon to all 1,500 or look at each case individually. Only 20 percent want everyone pardoned, while 67 percent said they would prefer the President-elect issue his pardons on a case-by-case basis.

Obviously, that is the most reasonable approach. No one who committed an act of violence or vandalism deserves a pardon. While I’m quite aware that plenty of violent Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters have gotten away scot-free, that doesn’t make those engaged in actual criminal behavior at the U.S. Capitol excusable.

But let’s face it, most of the people convicted did nothing wrong. The surveillance videos Democrats and the bogus and disgraced January 6 committee did not want released prove that. Most of those in legal jeopardy today were simply present on January 6. Others peacefully toured the U.S. Capitol when the doors were opened. […]
